Our Story
Sol is a holistic based mental health therapy app that promotes mindfulness. My app provides professional therapists that focus on treating mental illness with a holistic approach opposed to traditional medicine. Through Sol you are able to customize your personally preferences and match with therapists that are exactly what you are looking for. This feature takes out all of the guess work associated with the standard process and allows you to connect with therapists that fit your needs. Once you pick a therapist you are able to see their schedule and book appointments with them directly through the app. During our research phase I found that it was extremely important to our target audience that they are able to book mobily. After booking users are able to secure their appointment through in app payment to provide the easiest user experience possible. Users are also able to use Sol as a holistic database to receive recommendations on their current concerns. This interface showcases a microphone icon where users are able to say things like “Headache”, and Sol will filter through its database and provide the top holistic treatment recommendations. Another user friendly feature is Sol’s mental health journal, users are able to log notes to keep track of their progress. Different colored post it notes are used to signify the different emotional experiences such as positive, negative, and neutral to replicate a mood tracker. As far as the User Interface, I designed Sol to visually embody mindfulness and holistic medicine. My research shows blue represents calm and purple embodies trust and brand loyalty. Sol’s logo showcases a lotus flower because that is the universal symbol of mindfulness. Using the lotus flower in the logo creates direct brand recognition between Sol and all that is holistic based.
User Experience Design Process
Interview
Interviews were conducted to prove the assumptions I made about SOL's target audience and their needs. At the beginning of the interview I instructed them each to “Find a therapist” and documented the unbiased steps they took.
Survey
Persona
Two persona’s were created to showcase our specific target user. This is a representation  of the real target audience data gatherd in previous  research such as the user interview above.
Empathy Map
The empathy map shows the users experience and their emotional journey.
Wireframe
Wireframing is the process in your app design where you start sketching out how each page of your app will look, what movements will gowith it, and what will come after each page.

Colors
Color psychology shows blue is known for its trust and dependability. It's reliable, responsible, and mentally soothing. Purple is most commonly known for spirituality. White is color that is complete and pure, making it a perfect example of purity, innocence, cleanliness, and peace.
Typography
Logo
Mindfullness and tranquility were my number one focus when designing the SOL logo. A lotus flower is the universal symbol for mindfullness so it was a perfect choice for a holistic based app.

Onboarding
Onboarding is the user’s first impression of the app. If it is well designed it will increase the chances of people downloading the app. Once a user opens the app for the first time the onboarding will show the value in the app and the key elements and features used on the app.
