The YWCA Black Tie Affair is an annual art exhibit featuring the work of several local artists, as well as, a film screening and lots of hip-hop music. For this event I created a logo, along with a poster and social media graphics to advertise the exhibit. Green was chosen as the primary color for this design because research shows it is the universal color used to represent Hip-Hop. “Please Listen to My Demo” was the tagline for this event, so the mic and cassette tape in the logo were used to pay tribute to the old school Hip Hop industry. The logo stands on its own as a strong design but is versatile enough to be used on social media graphics and applied to promotional apparel.
